TOWNSHIP OF SPRING ARBOR
AN ORDINANCE TO IMPOSE PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION OF STATE CONSTRUCTION CODE


ORDINANCE NO. 30-B


At a regular meeting of the Township Board held in the Township Hall on the 10th day of August, 1987, at 7:30 p.m., the following Ordinance was heard and passed:
THE TOWNSHIP OF SPRING ARBOR ORDAINS:


Any person who shall violate a provision of the State Construction Code, including the Electrical Code, Building Code, Plumbing Code, Mechanical Code, or any other provisions of the Building Code, or who shall fail to comply with any of the re-quirements thereof or who shall erect, construct, alter or repair a building or structure in violation of an approved plan or directive of the Township inspector, or of a permit or certificate issued pursuant to the State Construction Code, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of not more than Five Hundred ($500.00) Dollars, or by imprisonment not exceeding ninety (90) days, or both such fine and imprisonment. Each day that a violation continues shall be deemed a separate offense.
The imposition of the penalties herein prescribed shall not preclude the Township from instituting appropriate action to prevent unlawful construction or to restrain, correct or abate a violation, or to prevent illegal occupancy of a building, struc-ture or premises or to stop an illegal act, conduct, business or use of a building or structure on or about any premises.


The penalty provisions provided in this Amendment shall apply to the currently adopted Construction Code and to all subsequent amendments of the Construction Code in effect for the Township.
