ORDINANCE NO. 29-B
AN
ORDINANCE TO REGULATE OCCASIONAL SALES OF HOUSEHOLD GOODS AND PERSONAL
PROPERTY WITHIN THE TOWNSHIP OF SPRING ARBOR
At a regular meeting of the Spring Arbor Township Board, held on
the 14th day of October, 1986, at 7:30 p.m., in the Spring Arbor
Township Hall, the following Ordinance was offered by Member James
C. Videto and supported by Member Larry T. VanBlarcum:
WHEREAS, it is necessary to establish criteria for the regulation
of occasional sales of household goods and personal property within
the Township;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED and enacted by the Township Board
of the Township of Spring Arbor, County of Jackson, State of Michigan,
as follows:
1. Occasional sales of household goods and personal property shall
be permitted within the Township.
2. Such occasional sales, whether they be designated as yard sales,
garage sales, porch sales, moving sales, basement sales, or household
or personal goods sales, shall not be held on any premises more
often than once every ninety (90) days.
3. In no case shall any such sale exceed four (4) days in duration.
The foregoing Ordinance shall be published once, in full, in the
Jackson Citizen Patriot, a newspaper of general circulation within
the boundaries of the Township and qualified under State law to
publish legal notices, promptly after its adoption, and the same
shall be recorded in the Ordinance book of the Township and such
recording authenticated by the signature of the Super-visor and
Township Clerk.
