ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS- SPRING ARBOR TOWNSHIP January 17, 2008January 7, 2008

The January 17, 2008 meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals was called to order at 7:00 p.m.

Present: David Herlein, William Jaquays, Beth Kuntzleman, Todd Zeller , Larry Atkins (alternate).

Absent: Earl Miller

Guests: Jan Gardner, Kevin Ganton

The need to elect a chairperson was discussed. Motion was made by Jaquays and supported by Kuntzleman to elect David Herlein as chairman; carried.

V07-4 – Arbor Manor Care Center

Variance for maximum lot coverage of 55% instead of the allowable maximum of 25% in the zoning ordinance to allow for an addition to the building.

Kevin Ganton discussed the proposed building addition and proposed purchase of land from the Spring Arbor Free Methodist Church (SAFMC).

Jan Gardner indicated that the proposed lot coverage of 55% assumes the purchase of a parcel of land (40’ x 440’) from SAFMC and a building addition of 10,635 square feet. The existing lot coverage, before the land purchase and building addition is 54%.

Motion was made by Jaquays and supported by Kuntzleman to approve the variance request subject to Arbor Manor Care Center presenting to the Spring Arbor Township Zoning Administrator a registered deed for the purchase of the land, as mentioned above, from SAFMC. Motion carried 5-0.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:35 p.m.
