Spring Arbor Township Board Minutes October 11, 2005

At the special board meeting of the Spring Arbor Township Board on Tuesday, October 11, 2005, at 6:30 p.m. with the following members present: Supervisor Will DeGraaf, Clerk Randi Holthouse, Treasurer Gloria Melchiori, Trustees Marston Fortress, Patricia Short, and Brent Williams.   Absent:   Trustee Troy Ganton.

The purpose of the meeting was to look at ways to cut the budget.

The board members continued where they left off from the previous budget cutting meeting.   Discussion was held regarding the balance in the Becky Cunningham Historical Fund; the Clerk is to investigate the balance.  

The board then moved to the budget and cut the following items from the 2005-06 budget.

              Cemetery, Improvements, from $700 to $400

              Cemetery, Equipment, from $200 to $0

              Police, Equipment, from $6,350 to $3,600

              Parks, Maintenance, from $9,400 to $7,300

              Senior Center, Maintenance, from $3,500 to $2,700

              Senior Center , Equipment, from $600 to $0.

              $100.00 was reinstated for the Treasurer Computer expense and $200.00 for Christmas Street Decorations.   Clerk Holthouse also reported that she and Dick Renner are working on analyzing the fund transfer for cost allocations from the Building Department.   She expects the amount to be around $30-$35,000.00.  

Adjournment.   Motion was made by Williams and supported by Melchiori to adjourn at 6:45 p.m.
