Arbor Twp Special Board Meeting & Budget Hearing 03-29-07
A
special meeting of the Spring Arbor Township Board was held Thursday,
March 29, 2007, at 7:03 p.m. in the Township Hall. Members present:
Supervisor Will DeGraaf, Clerk Randi Holthouse, Treasurer Gloria
Melchiori, and Trustees Troy Ganton and Brent Williams. Trustee
Marston Fortress arrived at 7:13 p.m. Absent: Trustee Patricia
Short. The pledge of allegiance was led by the Supervisor.
Guests:
Tim McEldowney and Russell Ratkiewicz.
Public
Comment: None.
The
purpose of the meeting was to hold a public hearing for the fiscal
year 2007-08 budget and to vote on other issues as discussed at
the March regular board meeting.
NEW
BUSINESS:
Motion
was made by Williams and supported by Ganton to open the public
hearing for the 2007-08 fiscal year budget; carried.
Motion
was made by Williams and supported by Fortress to close the public
hearing for the 2007-08 fiscal year budget; carried.
A.
2007-08 Fiscal Year Budget. Motion was made by
Fortress and supported by Ganton to approve a benefit package
for the Zoning & Building Administrator to include life insurance,
AFLAC insurance, pension plan and deferred compensation plan;
carried. Motion was made by Fortress and supported by Williams
to approve the budget for the 2007-08 fiscal year as presented
and to adopt the underlying fee schedules to support the budget.

Budget Amendments. Motion was made by Williams
and supported by Fortress to approve the budget amendments prepared
by the Clerk as follows:

Copier Purchase. Motion was made by Ganton and
supported by Fortress to purchase the new copier in the 2006-07
fiscal year at a cost of $8,524.00. Roll Call: 6 yes. Motion
was made by Fortress and supported by Williams to increase the General
Office departmental budget by $8,524.00 and to decrease other departments
as necessary to offset the purchase, or remove from the fund balance.
