PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING - March 4, 2008

The regular meeting of the Spring Arbor Township Planning Commission was called to order by Chairman Fortress on Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at 7:00 p.m. in the Township hall.

Members Present: Robert Poole, Marston Fortress, Carl Jacobson, John Williams, Mel Rice and David Herlein.

Absent: Richard Roth, Roy Holton, and Ken Melville.

Guest: Kevin Ganton, Paul Buchholz, Karthy Kunchappa, Lingam Marilingayya, Jack Ripstar, Sharon Hastings, Troy Ganton and Kathy Dapprich.

Motion was made by Jacobson and supported by Poole to approve the minutes from the February 5, 2008 Planning Commission meeting; carried.

Site Plan Review – SPR08-1 – Evergreen Home Care

Lingam Marilingayya, Karthy Kunchappa and Jack Ripstar explained what they are requesting to do with a house to office conversion. They will close the M-60 driveways and make a new drive off Melody Lane with parking. On motion made by Poole and support by Melville to accept the site plan with this change to the plan: Parking to rotate 90 degrees clockwise in “L” pattern along building and moving drive 40’ to 50’ south of proposed on Melody Lane ; carried.

Site Plan Review – SPR08-2- Arbor Manor Care Center

Kevin Ganton and Paul Buchholz of Ganton Retirement Centers explained the site plan and proposed addition to the care facility. Moved by Jacobson, support by Poole to accept the site plan with the following conditions:

•  They obtain a “letter of lease” for parking from Spring Arbor Free Methodist Church ;

•  They obtain a deed from the church for property; and

•  Storm Drain agreement – Second St. North to the county drain be completed by all three parties (University, Church and Ganton); carried.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:03 p.m.
