Planning Commission Minutes: 02.03.04

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Fortress. Members present were: M. Fortress, D. Evans, K. Melville, A. Short, E. Poleski and R. Roth.

Absent were: C. Jacobson, J. Williams and R. Holton

Visitors were: Mr. Doug Jones and Mrs. Ruth Scott.

The minutes of the January 6, 2004 meeting were approved.

Conditional Use Permit-Spring Arbor University

Mr. Jones, representing Spring Arbor University, explained the purpose of the Conditional Use Request for parcel #000-12-16-353-003-01, located at 106 E. Main St. The purpose of the request is to allow future use of the parcel for projects consistent with the objectives of the University. Motion by Short, seconded by Evans to recommend approval. Motion passed 6-0.

Mrs. Ruth Scott passed out material considering sign regulations for future changes in the Sign Ordinance.

A limited discussion concerning occupancy of the new strip mall was held.

As there was no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
