Fire Department Services

One may call on the fire department not only to put out fires, but also to prevent fires. A citizen may call Chief Greenslade at 517-750-4800 to request a fire prevention program for children, seniors, or any other group.

Other free services include the following:

• Smoke detectors for both the hearing and hearing impaired
• TOT finder decals, which may be placed on children's bedroom windows
• Home inspection to determine its fire safety
• Classes in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid
• Videos and pamphlets offering information on fire safety and prevention
• Carbon monoxide detector information
• Group tours of the fire facility and equipment by appointment.

Street number signs which enable emergency to easily find the address are also available for $20.00

 

Children attending the annual Learning Fair at Spring Arbor University Friday, (July 11, 2003), were enjoying the Spring Arbor Fire Department's Fire Safety House. These children are exiting the house when told that the house was filling with smoke. Safety Pup was also on hand to greet the children.
