Fire
Department Equipment
In order to keep Spring Arbor citizens safe, firefighters are
cross-trained for fire, rescue and hazmat spills threatening their
well being.
Equipment provided, partially by a 1 mil tax for fire and safety
equipment and personnel passed by the voters in 2000 is as follows:
3 fire engines, 1 75 foot aerial pumper, 1 heavy-duty rescue
vehicle, 2 grass fire vehicles, 1 hazmat trailer and 1 multi-disaster
regional trailer. Not only does this equipment service the Spring
Arbor Township area, but the fire and rescue department, as a
member of the Jackson County Mutual Aid agreement, respond to
any fire in Jackson County when called upon. In return, all other
county fire departments will aid Spring Arbor's if Chief Greenslade
determines it's necessary.
